About Us
The Lambda Chi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., was charted to Middle Tennessee State University May 1st, 1990 by nine notable charter members. Among these members are : Michelle Atkinson, Lisa Blackshear, Janine Caruth, June Coleman, Tameka Davis, Karen Jarrett, Michelle Russell, Juanita White Spicer, and Tonya Williams. The Lambda Chi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. is grounded on Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service for all women who are pursuing a college education. We work with many programs locally and nationally and are partnered with many different organizations such as : March of Dimes, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Girl Scouts USA, National Campaign to Prevent Teen & Unplanned Pregnancy, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, National Council of Women of the United States, and USA Swimming.

General Information
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., is a non-profit organization that was founded November 12, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana on a predominantly white campus of Butler University by seven educators. Among them were: Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little, Dorothy Hanley Whiteside, Vivian Irene White Marbury, Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Annette Dulin Redford, Bessie Mae Downey Rhoades Martin, and Cubena McClure.

Community Service Events
These are some of the events we participate in :
Donation to the MTSU food pantry.
Read to children at elementary schools.
Donating to charitable organizations.
Mentoring to teens.
Helping freshmen move in
work within nursing homes, homeless shelters, pet adoption agencies.

Events
We participate in many events and hold them such as forums, step shows, tabling, etc. We also support other organizations inside of outside of the NPHC. We like to travel to other campuses and congregate with other sorors.

Sisterhood, Service, Scholarship
We thrive on sisterhood within our sorority we keep a close connection to our sorority sisters in order to thrive in the community. Service is what helps better the community for ourselves and others around us. Scholarship is always important to us because of what our founders instilled.
